Indoor Go Kart Racing: What You Need To Know
The world of go kart racing has evolved to include outdoor and indoor racing. Racing has traditionally been held outdoors but more and more drivers are competing at the indoor circuit nowadays. So on those rainy or winter days, you can always enjoy indoor racing without worrying about Mother Nature. However, there are some differences between racing outdoors as compared to inside an enclosed building.
In general, indoor go kart race tracks have slippery floors. This can make driving around corners more difficult. Having your kart slide across the floor will slow down your speed and your race time. Ideally, you should try to avoid sliding as much as possible. There are some racing tracks that maintain go karts with solid rear axles, which can help in this situation.
When racing go karts indoors, there is a small learning curve to becoming familiar with the kart you are given. You will need to make the necessary adjustments to get the maximum speed out of your kart. You may notice that some have a tendency to slide in the back portion of the kart. Others will push in the front and may not respond to how you steer. Not all karts will have equal sized wheels which may pose as more of a challenge when driving. This will cause the kart to pull towards one side rather than going in a straight line. You will need to adjust accordingly to your kart in order to be competitive and race well. This includes changing your driving style.
Indoor go karting can definitely be challenging, but it can be exciting nonetheless. It is a sport that requires quick reflexes and wiliness to adapt to the kart you are given.

Are there go kart racing shops in the Phoenix, Arizona area?
I mean go kart as in like WKA racing, the type of racing you do to get into Indy or NASCAR racing.
I'm sure there are, thing is you need to get out to the tracks where the WKF and IKF run and see whos doing it. most of the guys running these shops have real jobs to pay for there racing habit, so it's not like they actually advertise. so find an IKF or WKF sanctioned event and walk up to the biggest trailer and start asking questions, someone will point you in the right direction.
